Allison Janney

AllisonAllison Brooks Janney, born on 19 November 1959 in America is an American actress. Her performances on screen and the stage have been a hallmark of her professional career, which spanned thirty years. Janney won numerous honors, such as the Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. She earned seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney received nominations for two Tony Awards. She was born in Boston and born in Dayton, Ohio, Janney earned a grant to study in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after having graduated from Kenyon College. Following a string of minor and non-credited television and film appearances The breakthrough for Janney came from her role as C. J. Cregg in The West Wing, an NBC dramatic drama The West Wing (1999-2006) where she earned the award of four Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2014, she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding guest actor in the Drama Series for her character Margaret Scully on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex.
